*Gadolinium Metal/ Sputtering Target is a silver-gray active metal with a molecular formula of Gd. The powder is easily self-igniting in the air and easily soluble in acid, insoluble in water. After exposure to oxygen in the air, it is very easy to exotherm into oxidized rare earth. 

*Gadolinium has various specific applications. With high neutron cross-section, gadolinium is used in neutron radiography and as shielding in nuclear reactors. A small amount of gadolinium can improve the workability and resistance of other metals. Gadolinium is used as a neutron therapy for tumor treatment and its complexes are intravenously administrated as excellent MRI contrast agents. As a phosphor, gadolinium has different applications in imaging. 

*For example, gadolinium oxysulfide is an efficient host for producing nanophosphors. Gadolinium compounds can also be used as scintillators which have applications in medical imaging. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, halogens, and food chemicals.
